David is CEO, ANZ New Zealand and is also responsible for leading ANZ's commercial segment globally. During his 30-year career at ANZ, David has held a number of senior executive roles in retail and commercial banking, including two years as Managing Director of UDC in New Zealand between 1998 and 2000. David is chairman of the New Zealand Bankers’ Association.

David Green

David is responsible for managing ANZ's relationships with large Corporate and Institutional clients and providing them with specialised markets, transactional and financing products and solutions. David has held a number of senior Institutional banking roles at ANZ and Deutsche Bank in Australia and New Zealand and has more than 24 years of experience in the finance and banking sector in senior management, advisory, structuring, underwriting and markets.

Graham Turley

Graham is responsible for ANZ’s Commercial & Agri team which is New Zealand’s leading provider of rural financial services and meets the needs of customers in the corporate, property construction finance and commercial sectors including UDC Finance. Graham has more than 22 years of experience in corporate finance and debt capital markets and has been involved in many of New Zealand’s complex corporate finance transactions.


Kerri Thompson
Managing Director, Retail

Kerri is responsible for leading our Retail teams from ANZ and The National Bank, our Contact Centres and also has oversight of Products & Marketing. Kerri has almost 20 years of experience in financial services and has held a number of roles at General Electric, as well as Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) in branches and at head office in Sydney.

Fred Ohlsson
Managing Director, Business Banking

Fred leads the relationship management teams focused on our small business customers. He is also responsible for EFTPOS and strategy for the Bank's operations in New Zealand. Fred comes to ANZ New Zealand from Australia having joined ANZ in December 2001. He has held a variety of positions across the group including most recently General Manager Global Commercial Banking, and previous to that General Manager Commercial Products.

Craig Sims
Chief Operating Officer

Craig is responsible for ANZ’s Technology and Project portfolio and has oversight of a program to simplify the New Zealand business. Craig’s experience includes overseeing ANZ’s acquisition of Royal Bank of Scotland businesses in Asia, being CEO of ANZ’s Pacific business and holding a number of senior roles at The National Bank.

Nick Freeman

Nick is responsible for Finance, Taxation, Treasury, Legal, Property, Sourcing and Internal Audit and his previous role was Chief Financial Officer for ANZ Operations, Technology and Shared Services based in Melbourne. Commencing his career at KPMG, Nick has more than 20 years of financial management experience including CFO roles for General Mills and Millers Retail, Group Treasurer of Qantas and general accounting roles at Shell.

Jennifer Evans

Jennifer leads New Zealand’s risk management function including wholesale and retail credit risk, market, operating and compliance risk. Jennifer has more than 20 years of experience in banking, including numerous leadership roles in Financial Markets, Treasury, Risk and Operations and was previously Chief Operating Officer for ANZ’s Institutional Europe and America business.

Felicity Evans
General Manager Human Resources

Felicity is responsible for leading strategies, programs and policies to support the employment and development of ANZ’s 9,000 employees in New Zealand. Felicity has more than 25 years of experience in Human Resources and has worked in a number of senior roles at ANZ and provided HR support during the merger of ANZ and The National Bank.

Peter Parussini
Head of Corporate Affairs

Peter is responsible for leading ANZ’s external and internal communication, including engagement with staff, media, government, regulators, NGOs and other stakeholders. Peter has 25 years of experience in Corporate Affairs and his experience covers international affairs, acquisitions, national education campaigns, journalism and politics.
The Board is responsible for the governance and overall direction of the organisation, considering the needs of shareholders, staff and the community.

Sir Dryden Spring
Independent Non-Executive Chairman & Director
Sir Dryden Spring was appointed Chairman in June 2006 having previously served as a director of The National Bank. Sir Dryden has made a significant contribution to corporate and rural New Zealand throughout his career and was awarded the New Zealand 1990 Commemoration Medal. In 1994, Sir Dryden was made Knight Bachelor for his services to the dairy industry and to New Zealand. Other current directorships include Sky City Entertainment Group Limited, Northport Limited and Port of Tauranga Limited and Sir Dryden is a former director of Fletcher Building Limited. He is a distinguished fellow of the Institute of Directors and a trustee of the New Zealand Business and Parliamentary Trust.

Michael Smith

Michael Smith has been Chief Executive Officer of ANZ since October 2007.
Prior to joining ANZ, Michael was President and Chief Executive Officer, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited; Chairman, Hang Seng Bank Limited; Global Head of Commercial Banking for the HSBC Group and Chairman, HSBC Bank Malaysia Berhad. He is a Member of the Asia Business Council, the Business Council of Australia, and the Australian Bankers’ Association Council.

Peter Marriott
Non-Executive Director
Peter Marriott has been Chief Financial Officer of ANZ since July 1997. He is responsible for all aspects of Group Financial Management including control of the structure of ANZ’s balance sheet, finance management information systems and performance management. Peter has been involved in the finance industry for more than 20 years and joined ANZ in 1993 as General Manager, Group Accounting.

Norman Geary
Independent Non-Executive Director
Previously a director of The National Bank, Norman Geary has continued to serve as a director on the board. Norman has considerable corporate experience and has held senior management positions with BP in New Zealand, Nigeria, Europe and the UK. He is a former Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand and was made CBE in 1991 for his long-term contribution to New Zealand aviation and tourism. He is a director of Otago Innovation Limited, a Board member of the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research and a member of the NZ Advisory Board of Rio Tinto Aluminum.

John Judge
Independent Non-Executive Director
John Judge was appointed to the Board in December 2008. Formerly a Chief Executive of Ernst and Young New Zealand, John has considerable experience in Australasian business and brings extensive financial and analytical knowledge to the Board. He is a director of Fletcher Building Limited and Fletcher Building Finance Limited and is Chairman of the Crown organisation, Accident Compensation Corporation. John is also a member of the Otago University School of Business Advisory Board.

Shayne Elliott
Non-Executive Director
Shayne Elliott is CEO, Institutional, ANZ. In this role, Shayne oversees all businesses that deal with ANZ's large business, corporate and institutional customers. A career banker, Shayne joined the Board in June 2009 having spent more than 20 years at Citigroup. Before joining ANZ, Shayne was Head of Business Development for EFG Hermes, the largest investment bank in the Middle East.

Tony Carter
Independent Non-Executive Director
Tony Carter joined the Board in August 2011. From 2001 to 2010, Tony was Managing Director of Foodstuffs (Auckland) and Foodstuffs (New Zealand), New Zealand's largest retail organisation. He has extensive experience in retail and has owned and operated several Mitre 10 hardware stores, and was a director and Chairman of Mitre 10 New Zealand Limited. Tony is a director of Air New Zealand Limited, Fletcher Building Limited, Fletcher Building and Finance Limited and Vector Limited and he is a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Management.
